A SELECTION of Scotland’s top young athletes were brought together in Glasgow to receive a sponsorship boost from London-based agency, Pinnacle Sports Group.
The £500 sum was given to each athlete who attended the Via Sponsorship sports sponsorship conference, held recently in Glasgow, alongside high-performance kit, to support them going forward in their training and competitions.
Those among the 22 sponsored athletes are British long-distance runner and triathlete, Beth Potter, British junior ski champion, Owen Vinter and Scottish Commonwealth Games medallist, Marc Austin – all from Glasgow.
Professional Scottish wrestler, Ross Connelly, said: “The evening was brilliant, and I am looking forward to what is to come with Pinnacle Sports Group. The funding is crucial in helping me to participate in international competitions and training camps, as well as purchasing training equipment.”
James Sheehan, director of Pinnacle Sports Group, said: “It was a pleasure and a privilege to support such a talented and determined group of young athletes. It is a core philosophy of Pinnacle Sports Group to promote grass roots sport and to enable young elite athletes to thrive. This was an opportunity for us to give something back and we hope to do more in the future.”
