A WELL-known Scots business journalist has been shortlisted for an UK press award for his work for Scottish Business Insider.
Freelancer, Francis Shennan, who has been covering property for Insider for four years, along with wealth management for six years, is up against five others for Property Trade Magazine Journalist of the Year.
Insider is the only Scottish publication in the shortlists for 18 categories selected from 120 entries. The winners in the 2019 Property Press Awards will be announced in London on May 21.
Shennan was recently senior lecturer in Journalism at Middlesex University until he stood down at the end of last year, but he continues delivering courses for the NUJ and Scottish Artists Union.
He said: “I enjoy London but commuting every week from Glasgow meant I didn’t see much more of it than NW4, so it’s good to be back in Scotland, full-time.
“However, I will be travelling down for the awards night. After all, somebody mentioned free champagne.”
