Media release: Success for Scotland at the British Alpine Championships

IT was a phenomenal result for Scotland yesterday as Scottish winter athletes, Iain Innes, Owen Vinter and Nicole Ritchie, each secured a place on the podium at the GB Delancey Alpine Championships.

Iain Innes, from Edinburgh, took the bronze medal on the British podium, Owen Vinter became the under-18s junior champion for downhill super G and GS and Nicole Ritchie took third place for slalom.

Both Owen Vinter and Nicole Ritchie are from Glasgow.

Proud sponsors, Pinnacle Sports Group, were there to see each athlete claim success yesterday at the championships in Tignes, France.

Each athlete had secured a sponsorship boost from Pinnacle Sports Group at the Via Sponsorship conference last month, a sports sponsorship conference (believed to be the first of its kind in Scotland) organised by Glasgow-based agency, GRM.

Director of Pinnacle Sports Group, Christian Smith, took the opportunity to attend the British FIS Championships alongside the chosen winter athletes from the Via Sponsorship conference.

Christian said: “I am delighted to have had the opportunity to come out and see the athletes in action, achieving podium results. This is the first venture into supporting winter athletes for Pinnacle Sports Group and we are thrilled to have been able to see the results first hand by working with GRM.”
