YESTERDAY, Wednesday 20th February, STV hosted the second STV Growth Academy as part of a series of events designed to provide small and medium-sized enterprises with resources and insight which will support them as they take the next step on their business journey.
As one of the country’s leading digital media companies, STV is committed to driving and growing a strong and prosperous Scotland. The STV Growth Academy event got underway at The Principal in Edinburgh featuring a programme themed around presentation and entrepreneurship.
STV attracts mass audiences – reaching at least 87 per cent of Scots on air, online and on demand.
Harnessing STV’s wealth of experience in media planning, creative brand development, consumer insight and driving a return on investment, small businesses were invited to attend to hear from a range of speakers who shared their knowledge on topics designed to assist businesses to grow and develop.
The STV Growth Academy was established to reach out to the next generation of Scottish businesses and nurture their development by sharing practical assistance that will make a real difference whilst having a real, sustainable positive impact on our country’s economy.
The event featured speakers from marketing and digital media agency, fatBuzz, and entrepreneurial leadership group, FutureX, as well as STV colleagues who shared valuable insights into developing presentation skills and developing an entrepreneurial mindset to scale business.
Zoi Kantounatou, co-founder, FutureX, said: “Scotland is an unique place where businesses really want to see each other succeed. Having spaces like the STV Growth Academy is really valuable for leaders who are realising the potential of their businesses not just to expand, but to become a force for good.”
Gordon White, managing director, fatBuzz, said: “It is a pleasure to be involved with the STV Growth Academy. Small and medium-sized businesses play an important role in the Scottish economy so it is important to support their development by sharing experiences and offering practical advice.
“Growth Academy attendees explored how they can develop their business and personal brands, both of which will be invaluable in helping their businesses develop and grow. I’m delighted to have the opportunity to help the team at STV with this valuable initiative.”
The STV Growth Academy is free to attend, though places are limited.
The next event will take place in Dundee – further details will be announced in advance. For more information about the Growth Academy, please visit the website http://www.stvgrowthacademy.tv.
