DUE to cancellations, NUJ Scotland has a limited number of places available on the following courses running this month in Glasgow:
DSLR two-day filming and editing (25 and 26 January)
This course is a two-day intensive introduction to video content for multi-platform delivery and learners will look at all aspects of moving from stills to video.
The effective freelance (25 January)
The ‘effective freelance’ is designed to cover not only the essentials of working as a freelance – organisation, negotiating, producing work, markets, law and financial record-keeping – but also living as a freelance, including personal finance, etc. It will include breaking into new markets, establishing terms, chasing payment, improving returns, specialist journalism, handling money, tax and deductible expenses, and copyright.
New models of journalism (29 January)
This one-day session will give you the ideas, resources and practical examples you need to explore new ways of doing journalism, from reader-owned and non-hierarchical models to the latest tools and techniques for developing a two-way relationship with your audience that pays.
If you want to book a place on any of the courses, please contact Joan Macdonald, training manager, NUJ Scotland: 0141 251 0363; email: joanm@nuj.org.uk
