HOSTELLING Scotland is delighted to announce it will be offering four summer youth hostels in Perth, Glasgow and Edinburgh, providing great value, flexible accommodation to budget-conscious travellers wanting to explore these popular city destinations in the height of Scotland’s busy tourist season.
Hostelling Scotland will open the doors to Edinburgh Haddington Place Youth Hostel (new in 2017); Edinburgh Metro Youth Hostel, in Edinburgh University’s halls of residence on the Cowgate; Perth Youth Hostel in the Perth College halls of residence and Glasgow Metro at Margaret Macdonald House, The Glasgow School of Art’s halls of residence.
Opening dates start from late June and run through to late August/early September, with individual youth hostel dates available at www.hostellingscotland.org.uk.
In line with Hostelling Scotland’s mission to make more of Scotland more accessible to more people than anyone else, the summer hostels are part of a continuing strategy to expand the range of accommodation it can offer guests in popular Scottish destinations.
The four hostels will add an additional 517-bed spaces across the three cities – Edinburgh Metro 199, Edinburgh Haddington Place 143, Glasgow 110, Perth 65 – over the summer months. Accommodation types vary from self-contained flats to en-suite rooms perfect for individual travellers, couples, families and groups. Facilities vary by location and most include, self-catering kitchens, on-site laundry facilities and free Wi-Fi access (check individual youth hostels for details).
All four youth hostels are perfectly situated for anyone looking to explore and discover popular tourist attractions, outdoor activities, cultural and music festivals and events, shopping, restaurants and bars, with good transport links for onward travel to destinations throughout Scotland. Edinburgh Haddington Place, Edinburgh Metro, Glasgow Metro all benefit from central locations, while Perth Youth Hostel is just a short bus ride from the centre of ‘The Fair City’.
