LESS than two weeks remain until more than 100 cyclists take part in one of Moray’s annual sporting highlights.
The Glen Moray Bike Ride, now in its 18th year, takes place on 24 June, and online registrations for the ten, 25 and 75-mile distances close on 22 June, though riders can still sign up in person on the morning of the event.
This year, for the first time, there will be free bike maintenance support, a demo area for adapted cycles, and cycle ride leaders to support less confident cyclists in the ten and 25-mile routes.
Chip timings will be offered to all participants; entrants under 16 years-old must be accompanied by an adult.
Local organisations have stepped in to support the event, which raises money for North East Sensory Services (NESS) and is jointly organised by the charity, Glen Moray Distillery and Moray Council.
Tesco Elgin are donating water for all the cyclists, Gaulds Fruit and Veg are donating bananas at the refreshment stops to energise all the participants and BC Massage will be providing post-cycle massages for a minimal fee, with all monies collected going to NESS.
Glen Moray will be providing goodie bags and post ride refreshments for all cyclists at the finish. Wave Radio will also be on hand at the finish line to provide some musical entertainment for the spectators and to energise the cyclists in their final push to the finish line.
Online registration is open via www.q-buster.co.uk/glen-moray-sportive-and-bike-rides-2018 or by emailing Educationandsocialcare@moray.gov.uk for a form to be emailed.

Famous for its colony of dolphins, fabulous beaches and more malt whisky distilleries than any where else in Scotland, Moray is a thriving area and a great place to live. Nestling between Aberdeenshire and the Highlands, Moray stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Brodie Castle in the west.
