TWO new nursing professors from the University of the Highlands and Islands will be delivering a free lecture in Inverness next month.
Annetta Smith and Gill Hubbard, who became professors earlier this year, will deliver their inaugural professorial lectures at the Centre for Health Science.
Professor Annetta Smith, the university’s head of nursing, will explore how pioneering practice in the Highlands and Islands has helped to shape healthcare delivery across the world. She will also consider how innovative nursing and midwifery education, research and practice will help us to meet the health needs of our population in future.
Professor Gill Hubbard, head of research at the university’s department of nursing, will take the stage to discuss how we can help teenagers to make informed choices about their health and wellbeing. As a former secondary school teacher, Professor Hubbard has had first-hand experience of working to encourage young people to make positive decisions.
The Professors’ inaugural lectures will take place at the Centre for Health Science in Inverness place from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Tuesday 26 June. To book or find out more, visit www.uhi.ac.uk/en/media/events
