WITH the introduction of direct flights to Edinburgh from Beijing, historic Dundas Castle has announced an uniquely Scottish experience for its Chinese guests on corporate bookings.

Dating back to 1416, the castle is popular with Chinese visitors wanting to experience a slice of genuine Scottish heritage and culture combined with modern meeting facilities. Peacefully secluded in its own 400-acre countryside estate, the castle features turrets, impressive staircases, sumptuous bedrooms and roaring fires. The historic gem, owned by Sir Jack Stewart Clark and his wife, Lady Lydia, is available on an exclusive-use basis. With 17 beautiful bedrooms that can accommodate 37 adults, Dundas Castle is the ideal location for a destination corporate experience, secluded meeting or incentive trip.

The Dundas exclusive corporate package mixes Scottish history and culture with a home-from-home Chinese touch. Guests can choose from an assortment of activities, from golf on the Dundas course, meditation and tai chi on the lawn to a tasting session of Scotland’s finest whiskies. In the mornings, guests will wake to the choice of an authentic Scottish breakfast or familiar, traditional Chinese breakfast buffet before sitting down to business in the private Beehive boardroom.

Meanwhile, being the home of golf, Scotland offers some of the world’s best golf courses, several of which are located close to Dundas Castle. If guests simply can’t tear themselves from the stunning venue, the castle itself provides its own nine-hole course.

Options for activities at the castle are as Scottish as they come: whisky and food tasting, falconry, Scottish pursuits and sightseeing are all on offer. Other activities include a Wildgoose tablet-based treasure hunt, discovering the history and stories of the castle and estate; 4 x 4 off road driving course or paintball in the woods; plus a whole range of team-based challenges organised by the estate’s partners. Those interested in capturing the iconic Edinburgh Castle, and other historical landmarks of the city, are offered a day-long photography trip with one of the Dundas partner brands.

Dundas Castle is also home to a variety of wildlife including deer, badgers, foxes, hares, swans, herons and llamas. The Dundas team continuously endeavours to play its part in making Scotland one of the world’s most environmentally-friendly destinations, with solar panels covering 325 square metres that produce 50kWp supplementing the castle’s energy. The biomass boiler installed in 2015 produces heat for the castle, auld keep and pavilion.

Dundas Castle is already a popular venue for corporate getaways and teambuilding days and is only ten minutes’ drive from Edinburgh International Airport. With facilities which can cater for up to 200 in the Pavilion and the spreading lawns of the estate, plus a well-equipped private boardroom and accommodation in 17 beautiful bedrooms, Dundas Castle is a flexible option for any corporate group event.
