ROSY Marshall-McCrae has joined STV Productions – one of the UK’s leading content businesses – as head of Factual Development.
The new position has been created to support STV Productions’ ambitious plans for domestic and international growth by building on its strengths across specialist factual and documentaries. The business has a record of hits across the genre, with successful projects including Ross Kemp Behind Bars – Inside Barlinnie for ITV, BAFTA -winning Dunblane: Our Story for BBC Two, and, most recently, Britain’s Polar Bear Cub for Channel 4 and Lucy Worsley’s Fireworks For A Tudor Queen for BBC Four.
Marshall-McCrae was previously at Red Sky Productions, where she was head of Development, leading a production team which secured BBC commissions including the popular daytime series Island Medics.
Prior to this, she worked as an edit producer – on two series of Prison: First and Last 24 Hours, produced by STV Productions for Sky One, and on Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas made by Raise The Roof Productions for Channel 4.
She has also developed, produced and directed a range of programmes including Skint, Strippers, Location, Location, Location and One Born Every Minute (all for Channel 4), Bangkok Airport (BBC Three), and Wedding Disaster Specials (Channel 5).
After completing an MA in International Broadcast Journalism at University of Wales, Marshall-McCrae started her career in News and Current affairs at BBC Wales. She then moved to London to join Firecracker Films before relocating to Scotland to work on high-profile documentaries such as BAFTA, Grierson and International Emmy Award-winning,Terry Pratchett: Facing Extinction (BBC Two).
