GLASGOW-based food-blogging couple, Emma and Mark, of Foodie Explorers, were gutted to miss out on a Valentine’s Day dinner booking, so decided to have their own budget-friendly romantic meal at home instead.
After blogging for nearly 11years, it has been a challenge to find somewhere that is not only fun but romantic.
They decided the answer this time was to take the pressure off each other and keep the cooking and spending to a minimum by visiting their local Greggs!
Mark, also known as ‘Mr Foodie’, kept the food warm whilst Emma, ‘Mrs Foodie’, poured the fizz.
The menu was presented to Mrs Foodie in French, often regarded as the language of romance, with each baked good item definitely sounding sexier in la langue française!
Starting with canapés of cheese and tomato pizza, they then each had a sausage roll atop a bed of baked beans before sharing a Valentine’s cupcake for dessert.
The total cost of the meal was £7.84 including a tin of beans and a bottle of fizz from Lidl.
