THE claim that there is ‘no problem here’ in regards to racism in Scotland is refuted in a new book, No Problem Here: Understanding Racism in Scotland.
This book aims to highlight the problems of racism in Scotland and seeks to examine the idea that Scotland has been ‘immune’ to issues of race.
No Problem Here approaches the subject in three ways: theoretical understanding, empirical data and policy formation.
Says a spokesperson for publishers, Luath: “With the recent news that schools in England and the US will not take part in a Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) survey to assess attitudes towards different cultures, extremism and identifying fake news, the need for a fresh discussion on racism is sorely needed.”
