MORE than 300 PR professionals gathered at Glasgow’s Radison Blu last night for the 2017 CIPR Scotland PRide Awards – the nation’s annual public relations showpiece.
Consultancy giant, Weber Shandwick, swept the board, winning five gold awards – including the coveted Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy award.
Weber Shandwick’s haul included Best Use of Social Media, awarded for the agency’s work with ALDI supermarket.
Weber Shandwick helped ALDI adapt its tone and messaging for a national audience by employing Scottish humour and celebrating local produce. Judges applauded the campaign for “identifying the need to create a localised identity, while delivering relevant and relatable content”.
Tricker PR secured an impressive PRide Awards hat-trick, which included the prize for Outstanding Small Public Relations Consultancy.
Jenifer Stirton FCIPR, chair of CIPR Scotland, said: “We have seen some tremendous campaigns and individual projects submitted to the PRide Awards this year.
“It was difficult for the judges to whittle down such a quality field into the shortlists for each category never mind pick the winners, but that’s a nice problem to have and it means those who do pick up a coveted gold award know they really deserve it.”
