EXCITEMENT is growing at Aero Space Kinross as they near their target of £50,000 – with just five days to go.
Alisdair Stewart, chair at Aero Space Kinross, said: “We launched our share offer back in April with the support of TV celebrity, Carol Vorderman, and are now at 98 per cent of our minimum target of £50,000 for our Aero Space Kinross Community Share Offer, with just days to go to our closing date on the 30th June,
“Over the last few weeks, we have grown to a community of over 600 registered friends and are calling out for more investors, as well as friends to buy ‘stars’ to smash through the finishing line this coming Friday.”
Aero Space Kinross has been running its STAR OFFER* in recent weeks – giving people in the Perth & Kinross community and further afield, a chance to get involved by pledging to buy a ‘star’ for display on a Wall of Stars.
The Star Offer is an additional way to give people an opportunity to pledge smaller amounts of money and become part of the community share project without necessarily becoming a full investor. ‘Stars’ start with a pledge of only £10 for the purchase of a blank star plus one free admission, rising to a pledge of £100 for a named star and 12 free adult/concession visits.
“It is a novel way of marking a graduation, big birthday, a means of remembering someone special or just a bit of fun with our named star offer for £100,” added Alisdair Stewart, ASK chair.
“In due course, it will give families and friends an additional reason to visit the space flight and aviation centre, as they will be able to point to their ‘stars’ in the galaxy on the wall in the entrance foyer each time they come.”
The ASK project has been created to inspire future generations into flight related, STEM careers and leisure flying pursuits that will act as a feeder for both the aerospace industry and educational/training establishments in the Perth and Kinross-shire area and across Scotland.
It will also be a knowledge hub, an exciting visitor attraction and an event venue to be enjoyed by the local community and all visitors.
‘OUR BIG ASK’ will also enable a ‘build-a-plane’ project in which local Kinross school kids will have a chance to help build a real plane from a kit which will make a clear link between the project and STEM education from the outset
Key features of the centre will include: • Science and story of flight, astronomy and space exploration • Planetarium (fully immersive, dynamic 3D content) • A/V experiences and VR flight motion simulation • Airsports showcase • Lecture Theatre – expert talks, seminars and workshops • Retail space, online shop, restaurant/coffee shop • Aviation charities showcase
