GLASGOW-based indie, Raise The Roof Productions, today announces two new executive hirings.
Dani Carlaw will join as development executive, to broaden the company’s factual and factual entertainment slate in a joint initiative with the BBC. In addition, Jo Scott will join the Glasgow-based indie to work across features, daytime and current affairs.
Carlaw has a wide expertise in developing, directing and series producing science and specialist factual programming, from the multi-award winning documentary, ‘Afterlife: The Strange Science of Decay’ for BBC Four, and ‘Trust Me I’m a Doctor’ for BBC Two and The One Show’s Science and Arts content, to the hugely-successful science of ageing series ‘How to Stay Young’ for BBC One.
She also brings with her a wealth of experience having worked across Channel 4 features and BBC Daytime and this varied background will enable her to bring many qualities to the table.
Dani Carlaw said: “Having delivered across several genres that include science, factual, features and arts, this is a wonderful opportunity for me to bring all of that experience together to successfully spearhead the development of new ideas for Specialist Factual and Factual.

Dani will be working closely with Craig Hunter and David Brindley to generate ideas and the BBC will have first look at anything generated by her.
Jo Scott joins the company in a permanent role as executive producer.
She will work across Raise The Roof’s slate of programmes, executive producing a range of projects. Scott has a proven track record in features having looked after ‘Location Location Location’, ‘Best of Both Worlds’ and ‘Phil Spencer: Secret Agent for Channel 4’.
She has worked across a number of current affairs programmes, setting the tone and format for ‘Supershoppers’, which has gone on to be a successful brand for Channel 4 and will also executive produce on the forthcoming ‘Phil Spencer’s Property SOS’ (WT).
Scott has also delivered large studio shows – ‘Time Commanders’ for BBC Four; classic access-led observational documentaries, ‘Big Body Squad’ and ‘Animal Maternity’ for Channel 5; and archive and nostalgia shows: ‘The TV That Made Me’ for BBC One and ‘It Was Alright in the 70s’ for Channel 4.
Jo Scott said: “Having worked previously with the Raise The Roof team on a range of projects over the past decade, I am absolutely thrilled to be taking our relationship to the next level.
