MICHELIN-starred chef, Martin Wishart, and his team at The Honours restaurant in Glasgow are chasing the January blues away with a rather tasty prize.

The chance to win two tickets to The Honours Uncovered at Malmaison, Glasgow, on January 28, is up for grabs in the new Great Glasgow Gastronomic Giveaway, launched by Glasgow Restaurant Association (GRA) to raise money for The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice.

Long-time supporters of Glasgow’s Hospice, GRA is raising the money to pay for the kitchens in the new hospice being built at Bellahouston Park in the city’s south side.

Throughout 2017, a monthly online raffle will offer top prizes from GRA members.

The first prize in January is a behind-the-scenes lunch at The Honours hosted by Martin. The lucky winner will be treated to a Champagne and canapé reception, a wine tasting and then a delicious three-course menu with a cooking demonstration from Martin and his team.

The Honours Glasgow is winner of Scotland’s Best Restaurant at the Entertainment and Hospitality Awards 2016.

“The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is an inspirational and worthy cause. I’m delighted to have the opportunity to offer support for this project,” said Martin.

It costs £5 to enter the raffle online at: http://www.princeandprincessofwaleshospice.org.uk/the-charity/lottery/gastronomic-giveaway

The raffle closes at 11.59pm on January 25.

Added Ryan James, of Glasgow Restaurant Association: “The Glasgow Restaurant Association and its members are proud supporters of The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice and it is a real pleasure to help contribute towards their exciting Brick by Brick Appeal and the kitchens at the new hospice building.

“Through innovative initiatives such as the Great Glasgow Gastronomic Giveaway, we think our restaurant members will help raise a lot of money for the hospice while bringing lots of delight to winning diners across the city.”

Glasgow’s Hospice provides free specialist care to patients and families dealing with life-limiting illnesses.

Said Heather Manson, director of fundraising at The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice: “Glasgow is a city of foodies and we’re delighted to be able to offer these incredible prizes, thanks to the generosity of Glasgow Restaurant Association.

“We really value the support of GRA and its members in helping us to build a new home for Glasgow’s Hospice.”

About The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice

The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice at Carlton Place, Glasgow, is a charity, founded in 1980.

We provide free person-centred and family-focused palliative care and support. Our specialist staff and wonderful volunteers are trained to work with those individuals and families who are living with significant challenges to their health and wellbeing.

In day care and on the wards, more than 1,200 patients and families are cared for every year.
The hospice depends on the generosity of supporters and the community to raise the £3.1million annually in voluntary donations that is required to maintain our invaluable services for the people of Glasgow.

We have outgrown our much-loved hospice building – it no longer meets our requirements or vision for the future of care of patients and their families – and are raising £21m to build a brand new, purpose-built hospice on a leafy green site in the city’s Bellahouston Park. Patients are expected to move in 2018.

Our aim is to bring 21st-century hospice care to the people of Glasgow, a major step forward in the provision of palliative care services, providing us with the flexibility to develop and improve our services and lower our age limit to 16-year-old patients.
