ONE of the area’s most forward-thinking businesses has been recognised at the 2017 Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards.
BRE Innovation Park@Ravenscraig has been shortlisted in the hotly-contended, Excellence in Innovation’, category at the annual awards which acknowledge the success of locally-based businesses.
During the past twelve months, BRE, the world leading, not for profit building science centre, has hosted an Assistive Technology event to showcase and demonstrate how the use of the latest technologies can support an ageing population.
This year, the team at the BRE Innovation Park has also welcomed an array of Scottish and Westminster politicians including Deputy First Minister, John Swinney, Scottish Labour leader, Kecia Dugdale, and Scottish Housing Minister, Kevin Stewart.
BRE was also responsible for the creation of an innovative new app which allows house builders to compare energy efficiency options and the associated cost implications. The data incorporated within the app is the most up-to-date on the marketplace and follows months of monitoring at the ‘Refurbished House’ on the BRE Innovation Park in Ravenscraig.
Dr David Kelly, BRE group director, Innovation Park Networks, comments: “The BRE Innovation Park seeks to combine science and technology with innovation and entrepreneurship to find solutions for existing and future building issues not only in Scotland but in the UK, in Europe and around the world.
“To be recognised in this way is testament to the commitment and vision of our team so we are delighted to be finalists at the Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards.”
The winners of the Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards will be announced on Friday 3 March 2017 at a glittering gala dinner in Motherwell Concert Hall.
