QUARRIERS, one of Scotland’s leading social care charities, is urging people to have a 10 Minute Teabreak to help raise vital funds for the charity.

10 Minute Teabreak launches today (September 26) and Quarriers is looking for people to throw get-together’s throughout October and the remaining months of the year.

September 26 is a particularly special day for Quarriers as it marks the birthday of the charity’s founder, William Quarrier, who was born in 1829.

A whole host of celebrities have shown their support by giving an insight into how they like their cuppas.

Andy Murray’s mum, Judy Murray, told Quarriers: “I like tea mid-afternoon. Good old English Breakfast, with milk and a sugar, but strong enough ‎so you can actually taste it. And preferably with cake. Victoria sponge with fresh cream and raspberry jam. Perfect.”

Whilst famous comedian and impressionist, Rory Bremner, says everyone should enjoy a 10 Minute Teabreak whenever they can: “I can’t get through the day without tea. Earl Grey in the morning, Earl Grey and Lapsang (same mug) in the afternoon. Live dangerously!”

Also joining the ‘par-tea’ and backing the campaign are ITV’s Lorraine Kelly and former Rangers football star, Ally McCoist.

Quarriers chief executive, Alice Harper, said” “We know everyone is busy these days, but taking just ten minutes out of your day to share time together over a cup of tea, and preferably some cake, would not only benefit you, but also help raise vital funds for Quarriers.

“Quarriers provides practical care and support for vulnerable children, adults and families who face extremely challenging circumstances. By hosting your own 10 Minute Teabreak and raising funds, you really will make a huge difference to the lives of the people who need it most.”

10 Minute Teabreak is the perfect excuse to get together with friends, colleagues and loved ones to raise money for a worthy cause.

The teabreaks can happen anytime, anywhere: in your office, at home with friends or in a local community hall, gym or church.
