THE detailed schedule for the very first Argyll Enterprise Week has been announced this week and the event is now open for bookings.
Argyll Enterprise Week is a new event, bringing together businesses, social enterprises, entrepreneurs and anyone with an interest in enterprise. It is designed to inform, connect and inspire those taking part.
A wide range of free workshops, seminars, briefings, networking sessions and exhibitions are on offer between Monday 31st October and Friday 4th November in Oban. The event is being hosted by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) and Argyll and Bute Council’s Business Gateway.
With more than 25 partners involved and nearly 30 events taking place within the week, organisers are confident there will be something for everyone. Key themes covered include funding sources, business support, exporting, digital, social enterprise, tourism, creative industries and food and drink.
Councillor Aileen Morton, policy lead for Sustainable Economic Growth, said: “We are keen to encourage existing businesses and attract new ones to Argyll and Bute.
“The number and variety of events on offer within Argyll Enterprise Week demonstrates the strength of the support available to businesses in Argyll and Bute to help them realise their goals and ambitions.”
One of the keys to addressing the population and demographic challenges facing Argyll and the Islands is to have a vibrant, successful enterprise community providing world-class goods and services regionally, nationally and internationally.
David Smart, head of Special Projects for Highland and Islands Enterprise, said: “Argyll and the Islands is already home to some truly outstanding organisations. To build on this, Argyll Enterprise Week aims to share some of these success stories and to strengthen networks and relationships to drive new thinking and collaborations.
“This is the first time an event of this scale has been held in Argyll and the Islands and I am excited about its potential to effect real positive change.”
