A LEADING provider of fire control and safety solutions has announced a new strategic partnership with a Norwegian engineering, personnel and equipment rental firm to supply Fire Protection Engineering, innovative technology and flexible pipe solutions to the market.
Blaze Manufacturing Solutions (Blaze), which was established in 2006 to serve the global oil and gas and renewables markets, is collaborating with Vinje Industri AS to create a supply channel to the Norwegian sector and offer Fire Protection Solutions and its newly-developed FLEX-FLO™ modular system to clients across the North Sea.
Blaze’s FLEX- FLO™ is a modular system for the construction of flexible piping solutions. Incorporating patent pending technology, FLEX-FLO™ has been developed primarily for firewater deluge in Asset Life Extension (ALE) and decommissioning projects, as well as new build or existing oil and gas production, chemical processing, vessels, drilling and well test heat shielding applications.
As a low maintenance, corrosion free flexible pipework solution, FLEX-FLO™ is quick to install, doesn’t require production shutdown to construct, and provides flexibility when alterations are required.
Vinje Industri AS was established in 2000 and is an expert in mechanical and hydraulic assembly and maintenance. The firm conducts construction assignments within all mechanical disciplines, in addition to hydraulic assemblies both on and offshore, and has one of the largest selections of equipment for bending pipes and hydraulic tools for hire.
With the growing number of maturing platforms in Norway, Blaze which is now into its tenth year will use its experience of ageing platforms in the UKCS, combined with Vinje’s expertise in the hose sector, to offer significant increases in safety and reduction in cost when compared to alternative pipework systems currently available in Norway.
Having access to the Norwegian infrastructure is important to the firm’s growing client base as it will result in multi-skilled Norwegian rope access installation teams, cloud scanning and local manufacturing capabilities for its customers.

As part of its internationalisation programme, Blaze will be exhibiting at the ONS Exhibition and Conference in Norway this week (29 August to 1 September) on the Aberdeen City & Shire / Scottish Development International pavilion (Hall 5 / Stand 5310).
The firm will be showcasing its new FLEX-FLO™ modular system on stand and will be discussing opportunities for further reduced costs and increased safety in the Norwegian sector.
