A NORTH-east property development and commercial leasing company has launched Aberdeen’s first private corporate coffee club in partnership with a well-known Highland-based catering firm.

Waterloo Quay Properties (WQP), which is located at Aberdeen’s harbour, has partnered with Cobbs, the firm’s new onsite catering company, to launch the exclusive membership scheme following an increase in demand for meeting space in the city.

Cobbs, which operates WQP’s onsite coffee shop, Caboose in The Courtyard, is allowing members the opportunity to access unlimited meeting space (private and open), onsite parking and networking opportunities through the new membership scheme.

Considered a first in Scotland, WQP and Cobbs created the private corporate coffee club in order to open up WQP’s facilities to non-tenants, including solo business people, those who often work from home or small businesses who do not currently have access to meeting facilities.

Fraser Campbell, managing director, of Cobbs, said: “The new coffee club will be of great benefit to the Aberdeen business community looking for something a little different, whether this is a place to do business in private over a good coffee or enjoy a relaxing break from work.

“During this difficult climate for local businesses, a chat with like-minded business people can be worth a lot and Caboose provides a pleasant environment for networking, an informal breakfast meeting, a quick coffee with a friend, or lunch with colleagues.”

Anna-Marie Eardley, managing director of WQP, added: “We have first class facilities here at the harbour and with the coffee shop being open for most of the day, it made sense to offer these facilities to a wider audience.

“Caboose is a vibrant place to enjoy some social time but it also has quiet areas with comfortable sofas and there are private meeting rooms for more formal business meetings also available. We have already had a few solo business people sign up who enjoy the atmosphere and the real business community we have here at Waterloo Quay.”

Cobbs, winners of Highland Business of the Year 2014, first established an outlet in the popular furniture store, Sterling, in the Bridge of Don, before also taking over the catering at Caboose.

Coffee club memberships are available at £15 per annum with optional added extras. Please visit www.cobbsatcaboose.co.uk to register and receive an exclusive membership card.

In addition, Waterloo Quay Properties is also offering a Quay Fitness membership, providing members with the opportunity to access its state-of-the-art, fully equipped gymnasium with squash courts for only £35 per month.
