THE latest addition to the Downhole Products portfolio has received a ‘warm welcome’ during its OTC debut.
The leading casing accessory and completion tool company recently took its new advanced casing drilling centraliser CaseRunner™ to the Houston event for the first time and has reported high levels of interest from delegates.
CaseRunner™ was originally developed by Downhole Products in collaboration with a major Norwegian operator and Downhole Products’ Norwegian agent, Toolserv AS.
Initially aimed at casing/liner drilling operations in the Norwegian sector, the system has proved successful with numerous runs to to date in the North Sea and is now being targeted globally.
The proven system comprises a specialist-engineered torque reducing centraliser and high holding force stop collar designed specifically for the casing/liner drilling market.
It uses the latest technology and materials to improve on existing solutions by maximising centralisation and minimising torque, vibration and ECD when casing drilling.
Downhole Products vice-president, Mark Dundee, commented: “CaseRunner™ represents an exciting new development which combines cost efficiency with ease of installation.
“By taking this product to OTC for the first time, we were able to demonstrate its benefits on a one-to-one basis and this has resulted in a large volume of positive feedback.”
He added: “We are delighted at the level of interest the product has generated among delegates from many parts of the world such as the Gulf of Mexico and certain regions within South America.
“We now look forward to developing this in the weeks and months ahead.”
