WORLDWIDE Cancer Research is launching an integrated brand response campaign to highlight the risk a lack of funding places on our collective ability to combat cancer.

The campaign dramatises the impact that ‘lost’ science will have on the people who will get cancer in the future.

Begins a spokesperson: “The stark and brutal reality the campaign highlights is, that despite all the thinking and insights that go into ground-breaking scientific proposals, a dearth of finance renders them worthless. The donations Scottish-based charity, Worldwide Cancer Research, receive now lead to the innovative cancer treatments of tomorrow.”

The campaign was created by The Union and Union Direct and comprises BRTV, magazine inserts and direct mail and social.

Beverley Hart, director of marketing and Communications at Worldwide Cancer Research, said: “We can’t overstate how important research is to finding the answers to cancer.

“But these answers will never be unearthed without a global research strategy.

“We are the only UK cancer charity that funds early-stage research into every type of cancer all over the world. Cancer knows no boundaries. If we’re serious about tackling it, then neither can we. But we can’t do it without the help of the public’s generous support.”

The campaign launches on February 2nd across the UK.
