FIVE entrepreneurs from the Highlands and Islands are set to give their businesses a global boost after attending one of the world’s most renowned business executive development courses.
The group, from Dingwall, Thurso, Forres and Orkney, will be among 120 entrepreneurs from across the globe taking part in the Entrepreneurship Development Programme at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston next week (24-29 January).
They secured sponsorship from Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) to attend this year’s programme to gain inspiration and insight, and learn the tools they need to grow their businesses in national and international markets.
Charlotte Wright, HIE’s director of business and sector development, said: “Our relationship with MIT has gone from strength to strength over the past ten years and has benefitted many businesses across the Highlands and Islands.
“In taking part in this programme businesses gain the inspiration and tools to take strategic decisions and in some cases radically overhaul their vision, strategies, structures, markets, profitability and success.”
The Highlands and Islands entrepreneurs attending this year are:
- Henry Blake, WoodBlocX (Dingwall)
- Derek Campbell, Denchi Power (Thurso)
- Galen Fulford, Biomatrix Water Solutions (Forres)
- Mal Scott, Mohn Aqua (Forres)
- Kirsteen Stewart, Kirsteen Stewart Designs (Orkney)
