A LEADING North-east wellness clinic has provided a £2,500 boost to an overseas charity.
Friends and associates of Aberdeen Chiropractic Clinic recently braved the winter weather to complete a sponsored walk to the summit of Lochnagar in aid of Birth Forward, a charity established by Clinic owner, Dr Eline Pedersen, to reduce the number of unnecessary Caesarean births in her former home country of Cyprus.
The sponsored walk by Dr Candice Myers, Dr Kristina Bakke and Dr Pedersen was led by Keith McDougall of McDougall Mountaineering.
It followed hot on the heels of a well-attended informative talk by Dr Pedersen and Dr Costas Hadjikonstantinou which recently took place at Aberdeen’s Macdonald Norwood Hall Hotel.
It expanded on the science of finding the root causes of many systemic conditions that relate to a number of organs and tissues, or the body as a whole.
Dr Eline Pedersen explained: “Caesarean rates in Cyprus are said to be 60 per cent – I want to address that statistic by empowering parents to make informed decisions on birth through sharing information as widely as possible.
“Our initial focus is on Cyprus but there is scope for sharing similar information in other parts of the world and all the money we raise, including the £2,500 from our two most recent events, will play an important part in creating awareness and enabling education.”
