RS Occupational Health has announced that its flagship, Remote Care Medical Centre (RCMC), has secured its milestone first contract.
Since opening in the summer, the RCMC has been busy augmenting services for the company’s large, existing client bank and now the facility has been contracted by Maersk Oil North Sea UK Limited to provide full onshore and offshore occupational health services and topside cover including medic supply, supervision and governance. The contract will run for three years with two optional one-year extensions.
The move represents a major step forward for RS Occupational Health which rolled out the topside service after months of development to address gaps in the market.
The customer-driven evolution of the service provision involved a full week of tests with Maersk to check functionality, with excellent feedback, followed by detailed implementation to ensure dovetailing of processes and procedures.
The purpose-built, state-of-the-art RCMC is the first and only facility of its kind in the city.
Located close to Aberdeen’s airport and heliports, the centre was developed at a cost of more than £1 million and extends to 4,157 sq. m.
Complementing RS Occupational Health’s existing services in Aberdeen, the RCMC enables the company to provide round the clock, comprehensive topside and emergency medical support to the offshore sector.
