CHUBBY robins, tiny bird houses, stylish stars and colourful angels are just a few of the beautiful handcrafted decorations all the best-dressed Christmas Trees could be wearing this year.
The decorations were made by the staff, members and volunteers of Scottish charity Health in Mind’s Midlothian-based Orchard Centre Services and will be available to buy, along with other handcrafted gifts, at the Centre’s second Christmas Fayre at 1 Douglas Crescent, Bonnyrigg, on Saturday 28 November from 10am until 2pm.
The Orchard Centre provides creative, community based services promoting positive mental health and wellbeing and Joyce Turnbull is the Manager.
Joyce is impressed at the creativity and passion of everyone involved in preparing for the day.
“There are beautiful Christmas decorations and gifts starting at £1.50, a steal, as each one is made by hand and therefore unique.
“The attention to detail is brilliant with the tiny bird houses having heart-shaped mirrors inside.
“The bird house clock key racks and the small trays for jewellery and small change are decorated stylishly and are not just for Christmas.
“The Orchard Centre Café will also be open to revive our visitors with teas, coffees and a great range of home baking,” said Joyce.
The Orchard Centre Services are a non-medical resource which people can self-refer to. The atmosphere within the Bonnyrigg base is informal and welcoming and the professional and experienced team offer diverse skills and creativity. The team work throughout Midlothian.
