INVERURIE’S Lisa Finnigan has further underlined her reputation as one of the UK’s leading young butchers by reaching the finals of another prestigious industry award.
Lisa’s skills have taken her to the final stages of the Meat Trades Journal (MTJ) UK Young Butcher of the Year competition, continuing the company’s enviable track record in these prestigious annual awards.
In 2013, Lisa’s colleague Andrew Peter was named Young Butcher of the Year whilst Davidsons Specialist Butchers was named Scottish Butcher’s Shop of the Year in 2010 and 2011, and UK Butcher’s Shop of the Year in 2011.
The Butcher’s Shop of the Year Awards seek out the best butchers and farm shops across the UK, as well as recognising rising stars of the industry.
This year’s winners will be announced during an awards ceremony in Leeds on November 12th.
For Lisa, the announcement is the latest in a busy year of award successes, including being crowned Young Scottish Butcher of the Year at the 2015 Meat Skills Scotland competition held by the Scottish Federation of Meat Traders Association (SFMTA).
She also reached the finals of the Young Manager of the Year category in the 2015 Meat Management Industry Awards and has showcased her skills at various industry events, such as Taste of Grampian and the Royal Highland Show.
