Media Release: Key addition appointed to the ITCA engineering team

A LEADING apprenticeship-training centre has appointed a new member of staff to its engineering team to strengthen its commitment to developing young talent in the North-east.

ITCA Training, which is headquartered in the Kirkhill Industrial Estate, Dyce, has recruited Ash Sharp to assist in the training and development of the engineering apprentices.

The firm, which was established in 1989, works with a range of companies across the North-east to provide training for young employees in a variety of disciplines including welding, fabrication, mechanical engineering, business administration and logistics.

Mr Sharp, 57, of Aberdeen has more than 25 years industry experience and previously worked at a major oil and gas company as a machinist and training officer before joining ITCA.

He said: “I started my career as an apprentice and know the importance of learning skills in a working environment. In my previous role as a training officer I had to look after the apprentices and any new starts with the company, ensuring they worked to procedures, and I will continue to use my experience in my new role at ITCA.

“I am enjoying working with the apprentices and passing on any experience that may help in their development. It is extremely satisfying to see young talent progressing through their career.”

ITCA managing director, June Jones, said: “I am delighted to welcome Ash to the team here at ITCA.

“Ash has vast experience in the sector and his appointment is key to the company as we continue to train the next generation of engineers to the exacting standards that we have some to expect from our learners.”
