TWENTY years ago, the very first City & Guilds Scotland office was established in Edinburgh, to accommodate a small but ambitious team consisting of three staff members.
Shellie Brennan, country manager for City & Guilds in Scotland, comments: “It has been truly rewarding to witness so many exciting developments over my ten years’ experience of City & Guilds.
“Speaking on behalf of our close-knit team, we are all delighted to have reached such a huge milestone!
“This steady rate of growth is testament to the success of this organisation, which has been achieved through customer base expansion and a diversification of services in what is an increasingly competitive market.”
Over the course of its expansion, the Scotland team has achieved internal recognition, winning the City & Guilds Sales Team of the Year accolade two consecutive years running.
This award signifies acknowledgment of the hard work and dedication that has gone into the growth and development of City & Guilds Scotland.
Notable milestones for the team also have also included the introduction of SVQ’s to Scottish skills development courses as well as SCQF credit rated and levelling of qualifications for the Scottish market.
Looking ahead to what is set to be an equally successful 20 years ahead in Scotland, the team is focused upon improvements in customer service, as well as identifying and developing new projects in line with the continual goal to innovate and maintain a lead in skills and development.
Shellie continues: “Scottish centres and customers will remain central to continued development. These partnerships signify a key link in the next phase of growth and diversity of the business.”
Finally, a huge emphasis is now being placed upon the development and growth of a range of City & Guilds services, in particular Employee Training Accreditation to support the private and public sector employers in Scotland.
Accreditation stands as a respected seal of approval for trust, consistency and reliability in learning.
This mark of quality allows organisations across Scotland, and UK wide, from oil and gas to engineering and hospitality, to increase awareness of and understand the benefits and assets associated with accredited learning.
