LEADING oil service company, ThinJack Ltd, is reporting brisk international business during its milestone tenth anniversary year.
In spite of challenging trading conditions within the industry, the Westhill-based company has landed significant contracts in the Netherlands where it is currently supporting a well plug and abandonment campaign in the Dutch sector of the North Sea.
In addition, expertise and equipment have been simultaneously in demand in Australia where ThinJack has been involved in the replacement of bonnets covering production valves on christmas trees.
This business growth comes as the company marked its first decade in business with the recent launch of PowerPad™ an ultra-thin system for holding open gaps and weighing heavy objects.
Like the well-known and successful ThinJack® system, PowerPad™ is based on patented technology to convert hydraulic pressure into significant forces which expand millimetric thin steel membranes.
These are inserted in the gap between stuck flange sections when used for lifting, gap holding or, with proprietary software, for weighing individual modules during decommissioning.
Commenting on recent contract wins, ThinJack director, Guy Bromby, said: “There is no doubt that the industry is facing tough times but our niche, specialised technology and capabilities continue to serve us well in helping our company underline its position as a market leader.
“In our experience, the market is currently seeking to do things differently and offline without the need for a jack-up drilling rig and its crew.
“In this climate, services and technology, like ours, which can be called on and mobilised at short notice, play a pivotal role in time and cost efficiency.”
Fellow director, Alastair MacDonald, added: “We are delighted that these new contracts have come from existing customers.
“Repeat business is important in helping us to underline our presence in these key locations and complements our continuing expansion in new geographical areas.”
