ORGANISERS of the Paisley 10K Race and Fun Run have paid tribute to the thousands of people who take part in the event to raise money for charities and good causes.
And Renfrewshire Leisure are offering prizes for those who tell them the best reasons for running in the event, sponsored by Hillington Park, on Sunday, August 30.
Joyce McKellar, chief executive of Renfrewshire Leisure, said: “We should really applaud the many people who are running in the Paisley 10k and Fun Run to raise money for charity. I’m sure lots of money will be raised on the day and the runners will have put a lot of effort and training into taking part in the event.
“We want to hear about these good people, so we can highlight and pay tribute to their efforts.
“We’ve also got a £50 sports equipment voucher and two free Thermal Experience sessions at the luxurious EVE Spa, at The Lagoon Leisure Centre for those who send us the best reasons for taking part.”
Joyce added: “As well as people who are fundraising during the Paisley 10k, we want to hear from runners who have maybe achieved a personal goal by getting fit enough to take part.
“We should be celebrating everyone’s achievements.”
People who have a special reason for running in the Paisley 10k Race and Fun Run can tell their story by emailing info@macdonald-media.co.uk or logging on to the Renfrewshire Leisure Facebook page.
