Media Job: Communications and PR manager (nine-month maternity cover), STV

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and flexible communications and PR manager who will thrive on the fast pace of an innovative, dynamic, consumer led media business.

Key to STV’s success is the effectiveness of our communications with our stakeholders: our audiences and consumers; advertisers and commercial partners; investors and shareholders; press and media; regulators and government; and our staff and talent.

This is a high-profile and challenging role which will provide the opportunity to work at the heart of all areas of STV’s business, managing a small team that contributes to our overall communications strategy as well as tactically implementing plans.

The role will encompass press and media relations; public affairs; financial PR and corporate communications; B2B and B2C communications; internal communications; corporate social responsibility; events; and ad hoc brand and marketing initiatives.

As a communications professional with initiative and drive, you will be able to proactively anticipate business needs, design and implement robust and innovative communications and PR plans / campaigns to address these.

You will have responsibility for delivery of projects from start to finish, drafting of proposals and key messages, communications plans and briefing documents, writing press releases, pitching ideas to journalists, organising events and developing stakeholder mapping and engagement programmes.

You will have experience of issues management and be commercially astute with strong relationship building skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

Some experience gained in a regulated sector would be advantageous and media sector experience preferred.
