THE Digger is looking for a dynamic reporter with great ideas and a flair for writing who is able to source, investigate and produce excellent stories which appeal to our core and target markets.
You will be a skilled writer with the ability to engage and excite readers through your work. You will have good contacts and the ability to build relationships with people from all backgrounds.
Working as part of a team you will have the ability to work accurately and creatively to tight deadlines and interpret directions to deliver quality content. You will take direction from the newsdesk but also be self-motivated and driven to source exclusive work of a high standard.
As well as contributing ideas and suggestions for the newspaper you will actively seek opportunities to help develop the Digger’s brand and profile. You will also be expected to use social media to promote our content and source stories. Our Facebook page has over 60,000 likes.
Key requirements are: a full driving licence, up-to-date knowledge of newspaper law and the PCC Editors’ Code of Practice, outstanding written English and communication skills. Attention to detail and the ability to work to strict deadlines are also essential.
