AN exciting opportunity has arisen for a bright, passionate and self-driven reporter to join The Oban Times’ busy team.
The person we are looking for will have an NCTJ or similar qualification, including shorthand, and be multi-media literate. Previous experience of subbing copy would be an advantage.
We are passionate about good local journalism and like our reporters to get out into the local community, meeting people face-to-face, sourcing the best stories.
You should be bursting with ideas and have an eye for a good story, understand the importance of fostering great contacts and knowing your patch, and be capable of working on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
As the position will be based in Oban, knowledge of the area would be an advantage.
You should also hold a full driving licence.
As well as writing for the newspaper of record for Argyll and the West Highlands, you will be expected to take photographs on the job, as well as contribute to our social media channels and podcasts.
