We have a reputation for breaking major exclusives while leading the news agenda and presenting the ever-changing world of Scottish and UK politics in a bright and accessible way. We pride ourselves on our coverage providing the depth and detail required to keep our newspaper and online readers fully informed.
What we’re looking for from you:
We are looking for someone with a proven track record in generating agenda-setting stories, consistently providing a high standard of copy, and regularly contributing ideas. The ideal candidate must be driven, flexible, great at working with people, and able to work independently when required, liaising with news editors and senior executives. They will be able to turn their hand to the broad brief of politics, home affairs, and general news where required – across print and digital.
We require someone who can work under the pressure of tight and frequent deadlines across our seven-day operation, be highly organised, and able to adapt their style to news, features and commentary. A strong understanding of the Editor’s Code and relevant legislation is also essential to the role.
