DC Thomson Media is seeking a talented broadcast journalist to join our news team at Original 106.
Working for one of Scotland’s most successful radio stations, and based at our brand new Marischal Square studio at the heart of Aberdeen, you will help to provide engaging coverage of the biggest stories from across the north-east.
From the offshore industry and tourism to farming, fishing and football, this is a unique and vibrant news patch which requires coverage from an energetic and dedicated reporter who wants to get to the heart of the story every time.
The ideal candidate will be a real self-starter who has some experience of working in a broadcast journalism environment and is trained in all the latest techniques, including video and social media. A knowledge of the north-east, a qualification relevant to the role, sound knowledge of Ofcom guidelines and a driving licence are also desirable.
You will also have excellent presentation skills and be as comfortable in the newsreader’s chair as you are in the field, as you will be expected to contribute to the on-air output across our radio group.
There will also be opportunities to work closely with the award-winning news teams at The Press & Journal, Evening Express and Energy Voice, which create some of the most successful newspapers and websites in the UK.
Requirements:
Broadcasting experience
Journalistic experience
Driving licence
Knowledge of the north-east of Scotland
