This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Scotland’s top-selling ladies glamorous glossy.
Reporting to the editor, the successful candidate will be required to generate, capture and communicate creative ideas, which build on brand values at regular feature ideas meetings and work well as part of a team.
Creative and imaginative they will also be expected to have excellent knowledge of how to use social media effectively.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Writing regular features
- Sub-editing features
- Sourcing images
- Liaising with the design team
- Supporting and deputising for the editor
- Playing an active role in all No.1 magazine content, contributing feature ideas and taking part in team projects
- Writing for the No.1 website
Requirements:
At least two years’ experience writing for the media industry, as well as a passion for beauty, lifestyle and celebrity is essential. It is expected that the successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have a proven track record in journalism or publishing.
You will possess excellent communication skills, a flexible outlook and a commitment to continuous personal development. Experience in writing for digital channels and an understanding of SEO would be useful. You should have an awareness of copyright laws and codes of practice.
