DC Thomson Media is looking for a sub-editor to join their team based in Dundee.
This position is ideal for a sub-editor who is looking to build a career and develop their future in the print and digital world.
This exciting role will involve working across The People’s Friend, This England and Evergreen portfolio of titles, overseeing all aspects of production – sub-editing content, creating compelling display lines, liaising with journalists and having a thorough working knowledge of the titles’ publishing systems.
You will work to agreed production schedules, gaining responsibility for proofreading articles, ensuring the house style is adhered to and establishing the most effective page layout. You will also be immersed into the titles’ online content, while ensuring all stories are accurate and meet legal requirements.
The successful candidate will hold a relevant degree or equivalent, with an awareness of copyright law.
You will strive to maintain meticulous attention to detail, be proactive in nature, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
