CLOSING DATE: April 14, 2017
A FANTASTIC opportunity has arisen to join one of the country’s most exciting news teams as a trainee reporter.
Dundee is THE place to be right now. It’s a city changing by the day, with the £1billion transformation of the waterfront and the spectacular V&A museum on the way.
The city has a buzzing cultural quarter and busy night-time economy. There is also a lively council — and equally newsworthy sheriff court.
The Evening Telegraph is the leading newspaper in Dundee.
A city institution, it has a proud history and an award-winning track record – recent successes include Front Page of the Year at the UK Regional Press Awards and Young Reporter of the Year at the Scottish Press Awards.
It’s also got a firm focus on the future, scooping the Innovation of the Year prize at the Scottish Press Awards and enjoying strong growth in web traffic and social media.
And the paper is moving into a brand new, state-of-the-art newsroom right in the heart of Dundee.
We are looking for a reporter who is keen to learn, determined to make contacts and hungry to dig out stories.
Reporting to the newsdesk, you will be expected to write for both print and online and to identify exciting ideas to enhance our digital coverage.
The ideal candidate will have 100wpm shorthand and a full UK driving licence.
Attention to detail and the ability to work to strict deadlines are also essential.
This is a full-time, permanent position for 35 hours per week, working from our Meadowside Office.
