POLICE Scotland is the national organisation for policing with a purpose to improve the safety and wellbeing of people, places and communities in Scotland.

The service is the second largest in the UK and covers over 28,000 square miles with a workforce of 23,000 officers and staff.

Effective communication is essential to the organisation and we are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic social media officer to join our busy Marketing and Digital Media team.

You will be responsible for managing Police Scotland social networking sites on a daily basis and ensure they are refreshed with up-to-date and relevant content.

You will be responsible for the co-ordination, implementation and maintenance of social media plans both nationally and at a divisional level, and execute the social media strategy for Police Scotland.

You will be qualified to diploma/degree level or equivalent in marketing/communications/PR or relevant experience of working in similar environment.

You will possess good IT and computer skills including Microsoft packages, excellent communication skills, project planning, organisational skills and experience of using social media channels as in a communications role are also essential.

This full-time post is permanent and requires standard recruitment vetting.
