About the role:
As a business, we are going through a period of change and to help us realise our growth potential, we are looking to recruit a creative, articulate and motivated global communications manager.
Reporting to the Group Human Resources director and based from our facilities Glasgow and Edinburgh, you will play a pivotal role in the development and management of Devro’s communication plan, ensuring that it is aligned to Devro’s one global strategy, both internally and externally.
With manufacturing facilities and sales offices throughout the world, your role will be to build relationships and capabilities within the regions to ensure that we generate engaging content and deliver communications that excite and inspire our people.
An important part of this is ensuring that messages delivered are consistent globally and accessible to the audience.
Furthermore, you will ensure that all employees understand their role in the global change programme, bringing to life the ‘Brand Promise’ and our core strategic aim.
As a result of this, you will have exceptional plain English writing abilities, being adept with traditional communication channels as well as digital and social media.
In addition to the internal communications responsibilities, you will also have input and involvement in external activities, including; drafting external announcements, copy writing for the annual report and accounts; managing investor relations content on website and monitoring competitor, customer and comparable investor news.
All of the above, and the exposure you will have to the CEO and executive management team, mean that you have the opportunity to make a big impact from day one.
About you:
Ideally, you will be degree qualified in a relevant field, however more importantly; you will have significant experience in a Communications, PR or Investor Relations role with a global remit.
You will be proactive, motivated and a self-starter with an ability to think short–mid-long term.
As a result, you will be able to manage and deliver internal and external Communications programmes with tangible results. Knowledge and or experience of the food, food ingredients or wider FMCG industry would be advantageous.
You will come with strong interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders of all levels in diverse geographies.
From this, you will have ability to lead and challenge senior people with regard to messaging content and getting their approval. You should be able to provide expert advice on creative elements of communications such as design briefs. Due to the number of locations, you will be able to deliver results across multiple cultures and having impact through virtual teams and diverse stakeholder groups.
You will have strong IT skills, ideally with previous experience of content management systems.
