We are: seeking an experienced, personable and enthusiastic communications officer to work within our busy Marketing and Communications Office.
We are unique: we are Scotland’s International Conservatoire, offering high quality specialist training in drama, dance, music, production and screen.
With more than 500 public events each year, reaching around 50,000 audience members, we are one of Scotland’s busiest performance venues.
From lunchtime concerts, opera tours, Shakespearean festivals to world premieres and new works of all kinds, we cover a panorama of cultural genres.
The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland is ranked sixth in the world for performing arts education is ranked number one in Scotland for graduate employability. The Conservatoire is a national and international centre of excellence for the performing arts. Around 900 students are currently pursuing degrees at RCS across our specialisms. We work in partnership with the national companies, including the National Theatre of Scotland, Scottish Opera and BBC Scotland, to provide students with the very best learning experiences the Scottish landscape has to offer.
Working as part of a small marketing and communications team, your role will be to engage existing and new audiences with the work of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, sharing knowledge, news and insight which ensures individuals, groups and organisations that are important to RCS are aware of its dynamic life as a world-class performing arts education institution.
You will: You will deliver effective communications across all channels and audiences including stakeholders, alumni, media and supporters, developing positive new connections and networks for RCS wherever possible.
You must have: experience of working in the media, PR or and/or a communications and marketing environment.
You will bring with you contacts in media and social media along with good knowledge and understanding of the Arts/Higher Education system, wider socio-political context in Scotland and wider UK.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for success in this role.
