The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, determined and have a proven track record in the news industry. A natural aptitude for news gathering, making contacts and producing regular off-diary stories are key strengths.
Based in Aberdeen, the senior news reporter joins a team of reporters covering Aberdeen and the surrounding area.
You will be bursting with ideas and contacts, leading by example to break exclusive stories.
Fort William reporter
Based in Lochaber, the Fort William job offers a quality of life second to none – it is ‘the outdoor capital of the UK’ and it is easy to see why: Ben Nevis and Glencoe are on the doorstep and ski-ing, sailing, walking and mountaineering opportunities abound.
But this is not some sleepy backwater – the Highlands is one of our newsiest patches and this job demands a well-motivated and confident journalist who can quickly build contacts in the community, dig up great exclusives and mop up every angle when a big story breaks.
The Press and Journal produces six editions across the north and north-east of Scotland, six days a week.
A full driving licence is essential for both posts.
