Edinburgh-based, salary depending on age/experience
WE are looking to hire an editorial assistant/researcher to work on a range of magazine titles, including trade and policy, from our office off the Royal Mile in Edinburgh.
The person we are looking for would have excellent writing skills, and also be comfortable with editing and chasing copy, and with strong organisational skills working to a series of rolling deadlines.
We are also looking for that person to cut their teeth at conference research, which would involve writing tightly-crafted conference agendas and identifying and recruiting key speakers on a broad spectrum of subject areas.
Ideally, the candidate would be equally comfortable with old media (print) and new (online), with strong social media skills and a working knowledge of blogging platforms such as WordPress.
Ideally too, the person would have a journalism qualification or working towards one, be a second jobber or a more experienced ‘returner’ to the workplace.
The salary would be dependent on age and experience; we are a young company looking to make great strides in 2016, with an opportunity to work with a major international media organisation.
