THE Conversation seeks a commissioning editor to join a growing team of journalists working with academics to channel informed news analysis and commentary direct to the public.
This is a role for an experienced online editor, able to generate content that will be read both on our site and, via our republishing model, on some of the world’s leading news outlets.
We are keen to hear from candidates with data visualisation and social media skills.
You will be expected to commission content quickly and accurately, working with experts who often have built up knowledge of their specialist subject over a period of decades.
This is a job that requires editorsto be able to work independently, as well as part of a dynamic team.
We require a journalist who:
* knows what will set the news agenda internationally
* can interpret and act upon fast-moving stories
* can edit swiftly and sensitively
* understands the importance of trustworthy information
* believes in the core mission of The Conversation
Launched in the UK in 2013, The Conversation is a not-for-profit, registered charity that exists to produce reliable, informed content which is free to read and to republish.
It is a membership organisation for universities and some travel to those institutions is expected. Applications are encouraged from around the UK and while our main newsroom is in London, the position need not be based there.
