WE have an exciting opportunity for an accomplished Graphic Artist. The right individual will possess a mix of technical and creative skills to help deliver eye-catching pages, graphics and artwork for the Sunday Post.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to:
* Prepare comprehensive design layouts using materials such as photography, illustration and computer-generated imagery
* Produce news graphics in print and online as required
* Prepare photographs for colour correction, including cut-outs, montages and retouching to develop design briefs from the rough stage to the finished camera-ready artwork
* Produce promotional and marketing material in print and online as required
Ideally, the candidate would be qualified to at least HND (or equivalent) level or have relevant experience in newspaper design.
They should have an excellent working knowledge of design software, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Knowledge of the creation and use of newspaper templates and style sheets, as well as an understanding of template-driven pagination, would be an advantage.
