My work in cycling covers many areas and gives me access and knowledge to a wide variety and range of topics that allow me to write passionately and with experience and an in-depth knowledge about my subject.
I am passionate about cycling and even more passionate about supporting other people to cycle. I started coaching cycling in 2009 because I wanted to give something back to cycling and see others get the same enjoyment out of cycling that I have had.
Since 2009, I have volunteered as the head coach at my local youth cycling club and have delivered sessions every Monday night since then.
I started guiding and organising small cycle tours in Scotland under the banner of Skinny Tyres following a cycling trip with friends to Switzerland, France and Italy.
On my return, I rode a 100-mile route over Ben Lawers and decided I wanted to get people from around the world cycling in Scotland.
Since 2009, I have been involved in organising cycle tours and training weekends both in Scotland and in the Alps and Pyrenees in France. I have organised many cycle events and raced on and off- road events for a number of years. I regularly work in schools coaching and am a Bikeability mentor for Perth and Kinross Council, training teachers and volunteers to deliver Bikeability proficiency skills coaching.
I am a UKCC British cycling-qualified coach in Road, Time-trial, Mountain Bike and Track coaching as well as holding other leadership and coaching qualifications.
I have worked with the BBC on the Children in Need Rickshaw Challenge for the One Show and Children in Need since 2013.
