THE Scotsman newspaper website has itself a new look, as of today.
Welcoming readers, the site – which is also home to The Scotsman’s Sunday sister title, Scotland on Sunday – says: “The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday website will continue to focus on the stories and issues that affect Scotland, the wider UK and globally but the changes to the site will help our website users better engage with the breadth of content on the site.
“It means a fresher and more modern website, with a new design, new features, as well as improvements to the most popular parts of the site.
“Changes include an improved video player, a ‘Picks of the Day’ slot on every article to help visitors discover more content relevant to them, as well as more prominence for tweets.
“The navigation for the site will change, to make it less cluttered and more intuitive. There is also more contact information, for easier communication. Existing registered users will also still be able to use their current login for commenting on the site.
“The changes are predominantly on the desktop website – the one generally seen from a computer or tablet device.
“And there will be further enhancements to the digital experience in the coming months – especially around video and user generated content.”
Meanwhile and elsewhere, the Daily Record has increased its cover price from today, by 5pm to 50p.
