THE cream of Scottish student journalism is to be celebrated next week, and the shortlisted entries, across nine categories, has just been announced.
The Scottish Student Journalism Awards are taking place a week on Thursday, with BBC Scotland investigative journalist, Mark Daly, and his presenter colleague, Jackie Bird, as the special guests.
The judges include Allan Rennie, editor in chief of the Scottish Daily Record and Sunday Mail; Magnus Llewellin, editor of The Herald; Douglas Alexander, chief sports writer, the Sunday Times Scotland; and Campbell Gunn, former political editor, The Sunday Post.
Among the prizes, the Student Journalist of the Year will win a one-week work placement at the Daily Record.
